How long had she been walking?
It didn't seem like a long time, but the pathway that Nora Wilbark treaded seemed to go on for a long, long while. Longer than she expected to. The path of light gently hummed with each step, the sound of a gentle harp strum coming form each footstep. It was strange, though...Nora noticed that the island the path of light was connected to seemed to be tilting around in her perspective.
"Why is the island turning upside-down...?" she wondered. Of course, it didn't take her too long to realize that it wasn't the island that was doing that, but the path she was on itself! "Whoa, wait a sec...the path!?" she gasped. Sure enough, looking back to the ground she started from...it was up high in the sky now compared to where she was! "I'm walking upside-down? Whoa...that's...freaky, but kinda cool!" she said to herself.Nora dared to not question how or why this was possible. By all means of logic, she should be falling right now. And yet her feet stayed planted to the path of light she was on. "If I had Wyvie, this would be a much quicker journey..." she said to herself, "...ah, but he's not from here. Then again, neither am I, really. Besides, I had to have him stay with Syd...she'd be heartbroken if she just found me gone for no reason."
Despite the path long and winding, Nora could see the island getting closer...the crystalline structures were more apparent now, and Nora could make out a sky blue dome on the island as well. "I gotta be almost there now...I can feel my friends close by." she said to herself, taking a good look from her sideways vantage, "I gotta know more about them...about me too. I can't be a kid on the outside forever..."
Nora Wilbark is (c) to me.
